A Victorian Scottish sterling silver pebble brooch. The obverse consisting of a heliotrope set shield surmounted by a Queen's crown set with Jaspers with further decoration of two swords ( the hilts set with Jaspers ) and two thistles set with citrines all decorated with engraving. With a jasper and agate set frame the lower part decorated with an engraved buckle. The reverse plain. The reverse of the shield stamped with a registration number. Circa 1880. Condition, good. The upper part of one of the thistle leaves is missing another has been repaired. The silver has been acid tested as sterling silver. Measurements, length 1 15/16" ( 4.9 cm ), width 2 1/16" ( 5.2 cm ), depth excluding pin 1/2" ( 1.2 cm ). An attractive detailed Victorian Scottish pebble brooch.
