For your consideration a really lovely example of Victorian jewelry. This piece has a beautiful double sided book chain necklace with a drop link that holds a locket with Shell Cameo. The necklace measures 17 in on the neck chain with and additional drop of 4 in to the bottom of the locket. Please see the photos of the lovely book chain which has a slightly different design on each side. The locket measure 1 1/2 in by 1/2 in on the oval. The locket opens to show a double picture frame. One of the frames has the original plastic cover the other does not but the rings are intact. The locket snaps shut well with no issues. On the front of the locket there is a small shell cameo in the center with lovely roping-flowers around the oval of the piece. The back of the locket has an initial that looks to be a "C". The locket has a makers mark of W S and B with a small star. This locket dates from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. This would be a perfect Mother's-Grandmother locket or a great addition to your personal collection. Don't let this one get away, early examples of this type of necklace are getting very hard to find.
Circa-Late 1800's -early 1900's Condition-Previously Worn-minor wear consistent with age. The piece is gold filled and has a lovely patina to the finish. Signed-YES-W S and B with Star mark on the interior of the locket
