This is an amazing hand painted piece of commercial art work by artist Jari Gaille. This artist graduated from the prestigious American Academy of Art in Chicago. This is a hand painted and pencil draft of an advertisement for “Fortunet” Shoe Company featuring Ming Blue wedge shoes and a matching handbag. I have found actual ads from 1950’s in magazines like LIFE Magazine very similar to this on the internet. This is a working original sketch by the artist. I bought this at an estate sale in Chicago which had many of this artist’s paintings and sketches.
This was made for the Fortunet Shoe Co. a Division of General Shoe Corp. Nashville, Tenn in the 1950’s.
SIZE: The framed picture measures 21” high and 17” wide. The actual drawing inside the mat is 12 ¼” by 9 ½”.
CONDITION: This piece of art in in very good vintage condition. The colors are bright and the printing clear. This is such a great piece of commercial art from the 1950”s.
I had this piece of art in my office for years but it is time to pass it on to someone else who will love it the way I do.
