is now SOLDWhen we first opened our Ruby Lane shop, we offered both costume and fine jewellery. The work of Canadian designer, Gustave Sherman was one of our personal favourites as well as most popular with our customers.
As we no longer carry costume jewellery, it's time to also let our books on Sherman go. The compact 125-page ALL THAT GLITTERS, published in 2006, is an delightful little guide, filled with copious colourful photos, and complete with an excellent Glossary to enlighten new ...and refresh the memories of long-time...collectors on terms like "japanning", "keystone", "aurora borealis", cabochon and more.
This book, written by Valerie Hammond, an authority on antiques and vintage jewellery, is a 5.5" by 8.5" softcover, perfect to carry around when you're out searching antique and other markets. Hammond has included prices, current at the time of printing, that is a "compilation of vales obtained from many sources". The cover of this book offered here shows small signs of wear, but interior is perfect.
We are also offering "Sherman Jewellery-The Masterpiece Collection" in our shop. We can both books together if you would like both. Thanks for looking.
