I purchased this ring at an estate auction about 5 years ago simply because I loved the double horseshoe motif that so many associate with good luck. Well, my husband, who never wears rings, took a shine to it. He wanted to keep it for himself, and to my surprise, actually wore it for about 6 months. When we were going away on vacation, for fear of losing it, he put it in our safe, and that's where I found it recently. When I asked him if he was going to wear it, he grinned sheepishly and said "sell it if you want". So that's what I'm doing because maybe there's a man in your life who would just love to have this ring for his birthday or Christmas. Here's what I know about it:
Fashioned from 14k and weighing 7 grams, this fabulous and very masculine ring has a nugget finish to the band, 3mm wide at the base and widening to 9mm at the top. The double horseshoes are 10mm X 15mm across the top of the ring. One 10mm wide horseshoe contains 10 brilliant diamonds measuring approximately 1.80-1.90mm each, for an estimated (by calculation) total of around 0.30ct, averaging Si2-I1 clarity and I-J color. The ring sits about 5mm above the finger, a comfortable height for the fellow who works with his hands but doesn't want to catch the ring on things.
By my ring-sizer, the ring is a 9.25, but for greater accuracy, the inner diameter is 19mm. It fits my middle finger, so if you don't buy it for your man, and mine doesn't want to wear it anymore, I don't mind sporting a lucky diamond double horseshoe ring. Who knows? Maybe it was meant to bring me luck all along. Maybe I'll wear it the next time I hit the casino ...
