ERTE "Juno" State 1 necklace with detachable peacock pin from ERTE's "Art to Wear" collection is utterly exquisite and highly collectible.
On pages 160-161 of the definitive "Erte Art to Wear" originally published in 1991, we learn that "Juno" was based on Erte's serigraph titled "The Chaste Suzanna" (which graced the cover of the May 1917 Harper's Bazaar) in which he depicted a peacock flying like a bird. Considered one of Erte's finest pieces, he named this necklace "Juno" It eventually became available in 3 "states", all of which contained glittering diamonds on the bird's body, and the first of which, State 1, as this one being offered here is, came with 8 brilliant rubies. The photos are the best way to see placement of all stones but you can get an even better idea of just incredibly sparkly this piece is by watching the video at Forevagems on YouTube
As mentioned above, Juno is both a necklace and a brooch. Look at the photos and you will see how it all comes apart for you to wear it either way. The bird brooch alone measures about 9cms long by 3 cms high. It's big! The necklace, completely assembled as one piece, weighs over 40 grams.
The glitter from the countless number of diamonds again, can really only be appreciated, by the naked eye: unlike the limitations of a camera with only one eye, our eyes see with 2 lenses. Look at it under the lights, turn it this way and that, and now you can see Juno's true brilliance.
Being an authentic Erte, this Juno is stamped CFA and 14k. It is #28 of only 250 State 1 Junos ever made. And to make your purchase of this heirloom piece even more valuable, I am including an actual signature Black Erte necklace box, as shown in photos. Don't forget to check out the video of this beautiful piece on our YouTube page!
We hope whoever buys this beloved collectible loves and cherishes it as we have. It's in immaculate condition, a collector's dream and at a price right now that is unbeatable. Thank you for looking.
