This unmarked, but tested 18ct gold Art Deco Diamond and Sapphire pendant is to die for...especially if you love or collect Belle Epoque jewelry...the jewelry style era to which I believe this belongs. It is absolutely exquisite heirloom piece that would be perfect for that bride who would love a historic touch to her wedding day attire.
Measuring 2.3cm wide by 4.5 cms high, this 18k white gold "basket" pendant holds six old cut sapphires of about 3 points each, ten beautiful old mined rose cut diamonds of approximately 2 points each, and yet another eleven smaller rose-cut diamonds, about 1-1.5 points each. And dangling prettily from the bottom is a lovely natural pearl.
The 9ct very fine 44cm white gold chain from which the pendant hangs is most likely a later addition, but doesn't it work beautifully? Words like "elegance" and "grace" immediately spring to mind when you see this pendant with your own eyes.
Your pendant will come to you in an old, but velvet lined tooled leather box from a Diamond Merchant in Birmingham. What a gift from mom to her daughter on her big day...or any day for that matter. This is a rare collectible to treasure forever.
