This gorgeous late Art Deco diamond ring makes my heart flutter that much more, as it personally reminds me so much of the ring my grandmother left to me when we said goodbye 12 years ago. My sister received grandma's engagement ring and I received a ring so very much like this beauty here: a central diamond, surrounded by a swirl design of single cut diamonds, set in 14kt white gold. I treasure that ring dearly to this day and believe that it was seeing my grandma's jewelry as a little girl that made me grow to truly adore all things that glitter.
A beautiful example of the period between 1925-1934, this ring holds one round brilliant cut diamond at its center measuring 4.50 - 4.55mm round, with an approximate weight of 0.32ct. It is gorgeously eye-clean and bright, with Si1 clarity and white G-H color. Typical of older pieces, the diamonds in this ring just radiate such a brilliant glow. Like grandma's ring, there are 2 swirls of bead-set, single cut diamonds on opposite sides of the main diamond, ranging in size from 1.50mm to 2.30mm. Eleven in total, these little sparklers weigh approximately 0.28ct combined, with water clean VS-SI clarity and H-I-J color.
Adding the last few touches to the design are 3 channel-set, baguette-cut diamonds totaling 0.11ct. They are also water clean, VS1-VS2 clarity and H-I color. All the diamonds are set within 14kt stamped white gold, which is also marked with what appears to be 'M5' or MS' and on the other side of the shank '72'. It is likely the exact '72' represents the diamond carat weight, seeing as our gemologist has calculated the overall diamond carat weight to fall around 0.70-0.71ct.
Weighing 3.30g of sturdy, solid gold, while the ring is on the smaller side at 4 1/2 to 4 3/4 (inner diameter 15.35 to 15.55mm), sizing shouldn't be problematic for any skilled goldsmith. Current Retail Replacement Value $3,750.00 CAD ($2950 USD).
Delightfully dazzling and dreamy, your eyes will sparkle as much as she does when you see her on your hand! Don't forget to check out the video of this beautiful piece on our YouTube page!
