An absolutely delightful diamond engagement ring, this period Art Deco beauty is both dainty & divine!
Reminding me a lot of my own engagement ring, which is from the late Art Deco era, this gorgeous round brilliant and marquise cut diamond ring features delicate details like millegrain beading, fishtail prongs and glowing, clean diamonds. At its center is a round brilliant cut diamond measuring 4.75 - 4.80mm with perfectly eye-clean VS2 clarity and white G-H color. Weighing 0.36ct, it is securely held in place by the 4 fishtail prongs. We had all 4 prongs freshly re-tipped to assure the stone was secure in its setting, as it was evident when we acquired the ring that 2 of the 4 prongs had been worked on in the past.
On each side of the central diamond you'll find 3 clean round single cut diamonds, totaling 0.06ct with VS to SI clarity and again G-H color. Below the single cuts, one per side, is a marquise cut diamond, measuring approximately 3.20 x 1.70mm, also totaling 0.06ct combined. Though petite, they are set elegantly and appear even grander than they are, with Si1 to Si2 clarity and H-I color. There appear to be a few small tool marks on the platinum bezel surrounding one of the marquise diamonds. We can have our jeweler polish the ring (which he hasn't done), or even further, have him rhodium the ring so it's got a fresh new 'white' glow to it.
Made for a petite hand, the shank of the ring is quite fine - not at all a chunky ring - and it is currently a size 4 1/2 to 4 3/4 (inner diameter 15.40 - 16.00mm). Sizing is possible in the hands of a professional goldsmith. The ring is hallmarked '10% IRID PLAT' and the ring is certified as such, with a Retail Replacement Value of $3,250.00 CAD ($2600 USD).
Gentlemen, if you know your love adores the Art Deco period, or you're looking for a beautiful diamond ring that won't break the bank, this gorgeous sparkler will light up her eyes & heart.
