Another great English find! I have never seen another one with this design. Unusual mid-19th century Victorian Mourning Brooch - round, with black enameling with classic "In Memory of", wreath of oak leaves, and center seed pearl. Old style "c" clasp. Glass enclosed compartment on reverse for hair, but this one appears to be empty. There are a couple of small "dings" to the enamel on front, but you have to look very closely to see. This one has not been tested for gold content, but it has that "look." I am selling it as gold filled, so if it turns out to be carat gold it's my loss. Measures 1.5 inches across.
