Found in the English town of Newark - a rare late Victorian, figural tape measure depicting the famous Blackpool tower in England. The tower was erected in 1894 and still stands today - this was likely a souvenir from an early visit to the seaside town. All original and complete - including the little flag and crow's nest on top. The Crow's Nest was removed from the real tower at the beginning of WWII. Cotton tape measure comes out from the base and you reel it back in with the little side mechanism - works fine! Made of pressed brass, stands about 3 inches tall - a real cutie. Very hard to find in this condition - Would make a delightful addition to any sewing or tape measure collection. Free domestic shipping/insurance on this item - nothing else to pay.
