Found in the English town of Newark, here is a charming little advertising tape measure from the late Victorian era - probably given as a "premium" to a good customer. Reads " Clamps' Stores, Clothiers, House Furnishers, Colchester" on both sides. I found a photograph of this store on-line (taken 1908) - they were located at #4 St. Botolph Street in Colchester (Essex). Nice condition, little cloth tape measure pulls out and retracts just fine. Measures 1.5 inches across. Inscription on side reads "English Make - Newmann Manufacturing Co., 105 Midland Rd., London." A nice addition to anyone's collection.
