Estate find! Here is a fantastic vintage brass book rack, dating from the 1920's, made by the Judd Company of Connecticut. Expands to fit different numbers of books (as required).
This is a scarce design and features a cast bronze camel at each end. All the Egyptian Revival symbols are there - scarabs, etc. Great detailing and wonderfully tactile. Piece has a great patina.
The Judd Company was known for using a four digit number beginning with "9" on all of their bookends - this is design number 9830, as shown.
Excellent vintage condition - a wonderful addition to your library or desk top.
