Estate Find! World travelers had a small collection of these and I was able to get a couple - black lacquer box with red interior - oval, measures 3.25 inches wide. Excellent condition. Signed in Cyrillic. The painted decoration on the front of these boxes usually depicts a scene from a Russian fairytale. This one shows a couple being driven in a horse-drawn sleigh. Very attractive little piece, probably around 40 years old.
