Just in time for St. Patrick's Day! These limited special edition medallions are worn by members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in the annual Irish Channel St. Patrick's Day parade in New Orleans - they do a different one every year to commemorate an aspect of Irish culture in New Orleans. This one, dated 1992, shows historic St. Patrick's Church, which was established in 1833. It is the second oldest church in the city and still has a Latin Mass every Sunday. Neck ribbon with the society's colors is in excellent condition. Medallion is enamel on brass and measures about 3 inches tall, not counting the bale. Nice and heavy.
