This is such a neat item! 19th century gilded metal trinket box - possibly a candy container? - in the shape of a bell with a crown on top - lovely engraved inscription on front reads "Joyeuses Pacques" or Happy Easter. The gilding is in very good condition inside and out. No maker's mark. Crown looks a little lopsided, but it does not appear to ever have been broken, bent, or repaired. Measures 5.5 inches wide across the base - about 6 inches tall. Slip something special inside - a piece of antique jewelry, perhaps? - and it would make a GREAT Easter gift for someone special.
