Issued in Paris during World War 1 in the Aux Allies (our Allies) series, this unique early postcard represents Serbia.
Featuring a lovely red, white and blue butterfly settling on a leaf frond, on close inspection we find it is actually a pretty long haired young woman. She wears a military cap and holds a sword.
Numbered 24 and published by Helio L Geligne, Paris it is postally un-used but bears a Matthew Arnold quote about Faith, Fidelity and Goodness verso.
It is hand dated 1921 and in fair condition with corner bumps and some creasing top right.
