This gorgeous pastel peach and two-tone cream figured silk kimono is covered in a cloud of hand painted butterflies in rust red, green, blue and beige.
The self patterned damask style peach and deep cream background features a unique overprint in off-white of a design of Ume (blossoms), Momijii (maple leaves), clouds and Japanese bridges.
The lining is of a complimentary cream with the same rust red color as an edge decoration.
The kimono dates to the Taisho period c1920's and is in very good condition with some minor stains to the lining. The silk is strong with no signs of decay or shattering.
Kimono traditionally have no sizing but the measurements are Entire Width 51 1/4", Body Width 25 1/2" and full Length 60 3/4"
The kimono has not been dry cleaned.
It is a stunning piece and would look wonderful draped over a couch, hung on the wall for display or worn as a very luxurious house gown. The choice is yours.
