In a gorgeous rich rose pink silk satin (Rinzu) with a self colored jacquard pattern of stylized flowers, this entire Antique Furisode kimono is covered in huge bunches of stunning Chrysanthemums (Kiku) and Paulownia (Kiri) flowers in the most subtly beautiful shades of violet, cream, pale yellow and white highlighted by splashes of deep carmine red!
Add to this the divine gold thread embroidery and gold painted highlights and you have one great statement piece. A real stunner.
A Furisode is defined by the very long trailing sleeves and they really add to the glamorous look of this beauty.
This is the ultimate kimono for taller ladies with generous boobs!! If you thought these stunning items were only made for petite ladies..think again.
Dating to the Art Nouveau era (Late Meiji 1868-1912) this wonderful gown is in great Antique condition, with a few small spots on the bottom edge and around the collar. See pictures #4, #7. #8 and #9.
The self patterned cream silk lining doesn't distract the eye, and is also in good Antique condition with some slight discolorations.
The Furisode has not been dry cleaned and a specialist dry cleaner can easily address the minor marks.
Traditionally there are no makers marks or labels. The measurements are Entire width 50 1/3", Body width 24 3/4", Length 63 1/2" and Sleeve length 35".
This would be the Boudoir Gown of the century but would also make a stunning talking piece framed and hung on a wall. Your choice.
