Etched onto a heavy hand torn cream paper..this rare Original Signed and dated French Etching is by Leonce Hall.
Entitled 'A Montmartre A Tous Ses Saints Seins' it features famous Montmartre, Paris landmarks..such as the Moulin Rouge, Sacre Coeur etc, with decadent naked Parisian women cavorting and smoking in the foreground, whilst above they are being watched by a Guardian Angel.
The title translates loosely as 'In Montmartre all the Saints have breasts'.
The Etching is a unique mix of the atmosphere of the Art Nouveau era combined with the sexual freedom of the Roaring Twenties.
Signed and dated 1927 (Art Deco era) in the plate lower left, it has a deep strong plate mark.
The Etching is printed by Imprimerie J Bott, Paris and the image measures 6 1/2" x 4" in a sheet measuring 7 1/2" x 10 1/2".
With some age foxing in the margins the early Vintage condition is good.
