By the famed Pre-Raphaelite artist John William Waterhouse (1849-1917) is this beautiful 'Study of a Young Woman' Original Engraving from Vol. 6 of the British Art Magazine..The Studio 1896.
This lovely Antique Engraving was originally created in red chalk as a study of a lovely young Pre-Raphaelite woman. With her long hair coiled and pinned at the nape of her neck and typical Victorian dress she epitomises the gentle womanly virtues associated with that era.
Issued on heavy cream paper stock it is signed by the artist lower right in the print and bears the Studio London 'blind' stamp of authenticity lower centre.
Measuring 11" x 8" it has some age foxing to the edges and is in good Antique condition.
The Studio was a fine arts illustrated magazine, published in London from 1893-1964. International in concept, it presented the work of artists and designers to a wide audience.
