By renowned French Orientalist artist Louis Auguste Girardot (1856-1933), this early Salon de Paris Postcard entitled 'La Sieste' dates to 1910.
It is a real photo taken during the artist's journey through Algeria at the turn of the last century and features a lovely reclining young member of a Harem as she relaxes and sleeps.
Girardot is famed for his wonderful paintings of young Middle Eastern women. Many of which gave the world a wonderful insight into life in the Seraglio (Harem).
Stamped and franked 1910 it was sent from the Netherlands to an address in France and has an unreadable official franking mark verso.
The Antique condition is good.
