Signed by the iconic Art Nouveau French artist Elizabeth Sonrel (1874-1953), this stunning French issue Postcard has an early un-divided back.
Featuring a lovely Art Nouveau maiden, draped in a white Grecian style gown, it is stamped, franked, and hand dated 1904.
From her famous and rare lithographic 'Fleurs' (Flower) quartet of Paneaux (panels) it is heralding the European Autumn (Fall) the young lady holds a bare branch and is surrounded by large Foxglove flowers. See my listing NN1077 for the companion Postcard 'Summer'.
With some album corner discoloration and mild corner bumps it is in good Antique condition.
Printed in the same manner and with the same amount of detail as the original lithograph..this postcard was issued 1901, at the same time as the 'Fleurs' panels series was released. Original lithographs from the 'Fleurs' series are currently selling on line for $1600 USD+..so this is an opportunity to add a Sonrel original Art Nouveau issue artwork to your collection at a fraction of the price of the lithograph.
