Dating to c1940 this pretty floral bangle bracelet is probably crafted from celluloid.
It is a delicate cream color decorated with moulded roses, daisies and leaves.
With a smooth back and a tiny unreadable makers mark it is probably Oriental in origin. I have seen a similar bangle marked 'made in Japan'..although it did have much bolder color.
This delicately colored bangle shows only a faint blush of palest pink and pastel aqua. The faded color definitely adds to the beauty of the bangle. And it is so delicately moulded that it has the appearance of a cameo when held up to strong light.
Measuring 1/2" x 2 3/4" it slides easily over the average hand and sits loosely on the average wrist.
It looks very much like Bakelite but I can attest to its age and if it were carved from Bakelite it would have aged to a pale orange by now.
