This beautiful pure silk satin (Rinzu) Furisode Kimono dates to the mid 20th century.
Fashioned from Rinzu (silk/satin) in a stunning buttercup yellow with a self pattern (jacquard) of clouds, it is decorated with simply amazing embroidered Peacocks with fantastic tails.
Worked in shades of peach, yellow, rust and orange, all outlined and enhanced with gold and silver threads, against a white ground, it is a really amazing visual treat.
The Furisode style of kimono features the very deep sleeve length and is the most formal of all kimono and traditionally worn exclusively by un-married Japanese ladies.
The pale gold and cream silk crepe lining is finished with a complimentary orange edge and is in very good Vintage condition.
The beautiful soft silk satin has a glorious sheen and very soft and silky feel and is also in very good condition.
The original tiny hand tacking stitches are still in place and I don't believe it has ever been worn.
Traditionally kimono have no sizing but the Entire width (sleeve-tip to sleeve-tip) is 52 1/2", the Width (shoulder to shoulder) is 26". Length is 64" and the stunningly deep sleeves fall 41".
The kimono would feel really luxurious to wear, but would also look fab hung on a wall, and has not been dry cleaned.
