This beautiful Art Nouveau era Gilded Brass Brooch features two rose cut and one oval cabochon cut Emerald green paste stones.
The cabochon set stones highlight an intricate filigree and pierced floral 'shield' which is the central theme and is raided above the body of the brooch.
The body is of pressed brass and has three oval filigree 'dangles depending from it.
Each dangle is decorated with a central flower.
Crafted from brass it was originally gilded but almost all the gilding has gone..leaving only a faint trace on the outer edges of the brooch.
This does not detract from the beauty of the brooch and in fact adds to the Antique ambience of the piece.
Measuring 3" x 2 1/4" at the widest points it is a large and bold brooch.
The original pin has a loop safety catch and while it has no marks, I believe it is an early Czech (Bohemian) brooch dating to c1890.
With the afor mentioned loss of gilding and some rusting of the pin it is in good Antique condition.
