From the special Christmas 1932 edition of L'Illustration magazine comes this original Etching and Aquatint by French iconic artist Louis Icart (1888-1950).
This is an original 1932 etching and NOT a recent copy of one of Icart's most famous (and also most reproduced) images.
Signed in the print lower right it features a lovely Art Deco lady and her small daughter enjoying a miniature Japanese Garden on a beautiful lacquer table. The pair are watched by a fluffy white cat with a huge bushy tail.
Printed on a heavy cream paper stock and with a deep plate imprint it measures 10 3/4" x 15" full sheet and 6 1/3" x 10 1/3" image.
With some yellowing to the outer margins, a small finger print lower margin centre and two small foxing marks top left it is in good Vintage condition.
L'Illustration magazine was published weekly in Paris from 1843 to 1944 and this was the special insert in the Christmas 1932 edition..see the cover in my last picture.
