By the Iconic French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901) is this pair of early 20th century postcards depicting Parisian street scenes of Mont Martre c1900.
Entitled La Place Clichy and Le Sacre Coeur, one features a group of four young women in the foreground in front of a large crowd gathered around a 14 metre tall statue of the Marechal de Moncey, who defended Paris against an onslaught of foreign armies in 1814. The other features four young Nuns strolling through a street market selling art in the shadow of Sacre Coeur.
Both scenes are typical of the Paris of Toulouse Lautrec and they would have been every-day sights for him and recorded in his little sketch book as he strolled through Mont Martre.
They are dressed in the garb of the late 1800's. Current photos of this area show it to be almost unchanged over the past 100 years.
Signed lower left they are both clean verso and postally un-used.
With mild corner bumps they are in good Antique condition.
