From the first volume of the Album de la Decoration, published in Paris in 1900, comes this beautiful signed Illustration entitled 'La Vigne' (Grape Vine)
Numbered Plate 42 and signed lower right by the French artist and illustrator M (Eugene-Martial) Simas (1862-1939), it depicts a lovely Art Nouveau lady in a flowing white embroidered gown, set against a background of pastel blue and beige. She is surrounded by grape vines and is picking a plump bunch.
Album de la Decoration was a French portfolio of beautiful color Lithographs presenting decorative motifs by a series of well known Art Nouveau designers and artists of the day. Published in Paris in 1900 by the Librairie des Arts Decoratif and edited by Calavas, Paris, it is printed on heavy cream velin and published by Fortier-Marotte
Measuring 14" x 10 3/8" and with some age discoloration to the margin edges and a printers ink mark in the margin top left, it is in good Antique condition.
