Original French Signed Limited Edition Lithograph 'Bouderie' L'Estampe Moderne series 1898.
In a warm sepia tone and resembling a crayon or chalk drawing..this beautiful Limited Edition (1050) original French Lithograph is by the renowned Italian Art Nouveau artist Alfredo Muller (1869-1939).
Entitled 'Bouderie' (Sulkiness) and signed in the print lower right, it features three young girls in long gowns and aprons..trying to fill their day and obviously feeling rather bored and sulky. One is sitting at a small organ or piano, another has discarded her drawing on the floor, while a third looks on with slight disdain.
Created especially for and issued in the October edition of L'Estampe Moderne series in 1898, it is a loose sheet tipped onto a backing sheet complete with the blind stamp of authenticity lower right.
Published by C Masson and H Piazzi, Paris and printed by the famed Imprimerie Champenois, it Measures 16" x 12" and the Antique condition is very good.
The L'Estampe Moderne series consisted of 4 limited edition original lithographs issued monthly in a cover by Alphonse Mucha between 1897 and 1899.
When I first discovered and began collecting L'Estampe Moderne series lithographs more than 20 years ago they were almost unheard of. In recent years the Museums and Galleries of the world have been collecting them and they are now very hard to find..especially in good condition.
