Antique Tie Dye Yellow Silk Floral Kimono c1910.
Dating to the early part of the 20th century (late Meiji era), is this delicately beautiful Kimono in pastel shades of cream, yellow, peachy-pink and green.
The pale yellowy cream silk fabric has a unique slightly open-woven appearance and is decorated with gorgeous Shibori (tie-dyed) flowers and leaves, in shades of pale yellow, peachy-pink and pastel green.
A very calming and restful garment, it has a light cream silk lining edged with deep apricot.
The kimono measures Full Width: 51 1/2", Body Width: 25 1/2" and Length: 63 1/2" and has not been dry cleaned.
There is some discoloration of the seams of the lining consistent with age and storage and a few discoloured spots on the collar and back of the left sleeve (which are almost invisible because of the background color). At 100+ years of age this is to be expected..and a good dry cleaner could remove them.
Otherwise in very good Antique condition.
