Nouveau Revival Brooch/Pin 'Lady Face' c1970.
Taken from an original design c1900 is this lovely 1970's Nouveau Revival Brooch.
It features a beautiful young girl in profile..her long hair flows into a garland of flowers and leaves that form the circular shape.
Crafted from Pewter it is reminiscent of an Alphonse Mucha poster and was probably made in Germany.
During the 70's the young swingers discovered Alphonse Mucha and everything Art Nouveau and a 'Revival' swept the world, especially in Europe. Everything from posters to jewelry and clothing. I know because I was there!! The quality of many make them almost impossible to tell if they are original or revival pieces.
Measuring 1 1/2" in diameter, it has no identifying marks and, like silver, displays a lovely patina of age.
With a solid safety clasp it is in very good Vintage condition.
