'Young Girl Playing a Harp' Small French Etching Signed Ribera 1621.
By the renowned 17th Century Spanish painter and etcher Lo Spagnoletto AKA Jose de Ribera (1588-1656) is this beautiful small French etching entitled 'Young Girl Playing a Harp'.
The girl is very striking and it is obvious that the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood of painters..especially Dante Gabriel Rossetti, were inspired by her beauty.
With small margins, it is tipped onto a slightly larger backing sheet and is blank verso.
With a strong plate mark it measures 5 1/4" x 5".
Signed lower right and dated 1621 it also has the number 10 lower left, as this is one of a series.
I also have the companion number 9 listed (see NN571) and after some research have found that numbers 3, 6 and 7 sold recently at auction for several thousand dollars.
There is some all over age toning and the Antique condition is very good.
