Beautiful Victorian Color Engraving 'The Evening Star' 1849.
Engraved by William Stott and Co, 'expressly for 'Godey's Lady's Book by J.L. Pease' in 1849, this beautiful color Engraving features a young Victorian lady on a decorative balcony. She holds a telescope in her hand and is watching a moonlit sky. She is decorated with stars and the title 'The Evening Star' is a play on words referring to her beauty.
Measuring 9 3/8" x 5 1/2" for the full sheet, the Engraving is 6 7/8" x 4 7/8".
With some age foxing to the margins it is in good Antique condition.
