Four French 'La Bayadere' Artist Salon de Paris Art Deco Postcards c1925.
From the Salon de Paris series of photographs of famous artworks comes this series of 4 sepia postcards featuring the same Art Deco era beauty in different poses portraying the historic Temple dancer Nikiya from the ballet 'La Bayadere'.
Wearing flimsy voile and large Oriental bracelets, her tightly permed fashionable hair is tied up with a bandanna as she poses strikingly against a paneled wall.
Entitled 'Bayadere', 'The Blue Veil', 'Surprised', and 'Danseuse au Repose', they are all by the renowned French painter Francois Martin Kavel (1861-1931), issued by AN, Paris, and signed lower right.
One is postally used and hand dated 1925, while the others are clean verso and in very good Vintage condition.
A stunning series to frame together or to add to your SDP collection.
