Original Signed Pair of Reversible Oriental Hand Painted Silk Panels c1910 Stamped.
Hand Painted on old Oriental silk with a fine sheen this pair of beautiful Oriental ladies would look fabulous framed together.
One is dressed simply in a pink and green kimono and is holding a paper fan. The other is in shades of peach and apricot. Both display the limited color palette, economy of line and simplicity of form synonymous with early Oriental woodblock prints.
Both are signed and stamped and measure 4 3/4" x 11".
The silk is affixed to a very light thin timber backing and continues verso with another beautiful hand painted design...landscape scenes of mountains, trees and village houses. These designs are also signed and stamped. Framed in a reversible style they would be a stunning addition to a collection of Oriental art.
Two truly unique early 20th century Oriental silk painted panels.
