Art Deco book Illustration by renowned Irish Book Illustrator and stained glass artist Harry Clarke (1889-1931).
Entitled 'The Descent from Heaven', this surrealistic image is an illustration from 'Tales of Mystery and Imagination' by Edgar Allan Poe, published in London in 1920.
As well as his many book illustrations, Harry Clarke is famous for his many beautiful Art Nouveau style stained glass church windows.
This stunningly colored illustration is evidence of his affinity to stained glass design.
Measuring 7 7/8" x 5 7/8" it is tipped into a backing sheet of 7 3/8" x 10 1/4". The Vintage condition is very good.
