Brunelleschi French Engraving 'Regency Couple with Fan' 1950.
Issued in Paris in 1950 is this wonderful color Engraving by Art Deco Italian illustrator and costume designer for the Folies Berger, Umberto Brunelleschi (1879-1949). It is one of four from the same series I am listing today. See also NN495, NN496 and NN498.
Entitled 'Regency Couple with Fan' it is a typically Art Deco interpretation of Regency romance and slightly risque. In wonderful pastel colors it features a beautiful woman resplendent in a white powdered wig with feather top knot and a rose decorated white ball gown. She holds a large paper fan across her décolletage as her bewigged Beau kisses her hand.
The work is nicely finished with a decorative framework and blank verso.
Printed on quality stock paper it measures 7 3/4" x 10" full sheet and the illustration is 5" x 6 1/2".
With no marks or damage it is a fine Vintage Engraving by an iconic master.
