Brunelleschi Signed French Engraving 'Venice Masquerade' 1950.
Issued in Paris in 1950 is this wonderful color Engraving by Art Deco Italian illustrator and costume designer for the Folies Bergere, Umberto Brunelleschi (1879-1949). It is one of four from the same series I am listing today. See also NN496, NN497, NN498.
Entitled 'Venice Masquerade' it is a typically Art Deco interpretation of the Venice Carnivale. In wonderful pastel colors it features a masked man in a green brocade cape, a kissing couple in the background oblivious to those around them and in the foreground..another masked couple enjoying the romantic Venetian atmosphere and architecture. As with all Brunelleschi's work it has a touch of the risqué about it.
The work is nicely finished with a decorative framework, signed upper right and blank verso.
Printed on quality stock paper it measures 7 3/4" x 10" full sheet and the illustration is 5" x 6 1/2".
With no marks or damage it is a fine Vintage engraving by an Iconic master.
