Color Lithograph 'Surimono' by Hokusai 1909.

Printed in London in 1909 for The Studio magazine (see pic 3)..this photo lithograph from a woodblock print is by the renowned 18th century Japanese artist Hokusai (1760-1849).

Entitled 'Surimono' it is printed on a high quality paper and tipped onto a backing sheet with a 'blind stamp' and title from the magazine.

The limited palette of pinks and greys is typical of the woodblock print and it is signed by the artist lower right.

The lithograph measures 3 5/8" x 4 1/2" and with one small foxing mark top left it is in very good Antique condition.

The Studio was a fine arts illustrated magazine issued in London from 1893-1964 and was International in concept. It promoted the work of artists and designers to a wider audience.
