Art Nouveau/Victorian Silver Marcasite 'Lady with a Peacock Feather' Brooch c1890.
From the early Art Nouveau era c1890 comes this amazing and truly unique Sterling (Hallmarked) silver marcasite brooch.
It features a simply lovely long haired maiden in profile, holding a long peacock feather with a tiny pink paste stone inset into the heart of the feather.
An amazingly intricate and yet delicate piece of jewelers craftsmanship, and one you will never see again.
The original swing lock clasp is set top to bottom, making it invisible when viewed from the front..giving the purchaser an opportunity to easily add a bale and wear it as a pendant.
Measuring 2 1/2" x 1 1/4" it has a lovely patina to the silver and no missing marcasites.
The Antique condition is very good.
The box is for photographic purposes only but the lovely brooch will be sent in a padded box with a jewelery bag.
