This stunning Nouveau revival poster dates to the early 1970's and comes from the pre dot matrix period when original Art Nouveau posters were accurately and beautifully copied.
First issued in 1899 by the worlds most renowned master of Art Nouveau..Czech artist Alphonse Maria Mucha (1860-1939)..the two graphics on this poster were individual lithographs entitled 'La Premevere' (Polyanthus) and 'La Plume' (the Pen), and are two of the great masters best loved posters.
Originally printed by Champenoise, Paris this 1970's revival lithographic printing is by Sandyval Graphics and was printed in California USA.
At one time in the 1970's I had a series of these wonderful posters thumb tacked to my walls. Now I treat them as treasures and have had them beautifully framed. They look simply stunning hung on a wall and because of the strength of design and bold colors will fit with any décor.
Each design is signed in the plate and dated 1899. Measurements are 26" x 21 1/2". It has some slight 'rumpling' where it has been stored rolled up for many years, but this will frame out easily and the Vintage condition is very good.
Divide the poster into two individual prints and frame as a pair, or frame as one poster. The choice is yours.
Original issues of either of these two wonderful designs sell at auction for many thousands of dollars.
