From the French Art Nouveau small poster series Les Affiches Etrangeres, comes this rather comic and stylized Can-can dancer by Anonymous.
Advertising the Little Christopher Garden Theatre in New York it is a brightly colored attention getter.
Originally issued in large format by H A Thomas & Wilie 130-134 West 24th Street, New York it was printed in this small format in 1896 by Imprimerie Chaix, Paris.
Measuring 6 3/4" x 11 " it has been slightly cut down from its original size as issued of 8 1/2" x 12", but this will make no difference once framed.
With a small crease top right it is in good Antique condition.
Les Affiches Etrangeres were a series of miniaturized posters printed in Paris in 1896 in limited edition (1025) to satisfy the demands of the avid poster collectors who did not have room on their walls for huge posters.
