Original Signed French Art Nouveau Antique Lithograph 'Dance' 1897.
From issue #6 October 1897 comes this beautiful original French Art Nouveau lithograph by French painter Armand Rassenfosse (1862-1934).
Entitled 'Danse' it features a naked Art Nouveau maiden briefly clad in veils, dancing with gay abandon. Her long flowing hair is decorated with roses and she scatters the blooms as she dances.
One of the famed L'Estampe Moderne series it bears the 'blind' stamp of authenticity lower right (see pic #3), is signed by the artist in the plate lower right and comes with it's original tissue cover decorated with a short poem by de Lisle and a brief description of the work.
Measuring 12" x 16" it is in very good Antique condition.
L'Estampe Moderne series consisted of four limited edition (1050) lithographs, issued monthly in a cover by Alphonse Mucha, between 1897 and 1899, at a cost of three francs 50 centimes.
As all the major galleries of the world now have copies of these wonderful lithographs they are becoming extremely difficult to find, especially in such good condition.
