Entitled L'Ecuyere (Hessian Horse Woman), this beautiful Antique original French Lithograph is from issue #12 April 1898 of the famed L'Estampe Moderne series.
By Swiss artist Richard Ranft (1862-1931), it depicts a pretty female circus performer on a beautiful horse as she rides around the ring, against a background of clowns and circus props.
Signed in the plate lower right and bearing the official blind stamp of authenticity, it measures 12" x 16" and with some general yellowing and a small smudge to the margins and a tiny tear lower right, is in good Antique condition.
L'Estampe Moderne series consisted of 4 limited edition (1050) lithographs, issued in a cover by Alphonse Mucha, between 1897 and 1899 at an original cost of 3 francs 50 centimes.
