By French etcher and lithographer Henri Boutet (1851-1919), known as the Parisienne Master of the corset because of his many portrayals of ladies in various states of undress, this beautiful rendering of a ballet dancer rivals Degas (Boutet's contemporary) in its charm and femininity.
Issued as 'Dans les Coulisses' (in the wings) it is from the 8th edition of L'Estampe Moderne series from December 1897.
Signed in the plate lower left and bearing the 'Blind' stamp of authenticity lower right, see picture #4, it was printed by Champenoise of Paris, measures 12" x 16" and with its original tissue cover is in very good Antique condition.
L'Estampe Moderne series consisted of 4 limited edition (1050) lithographs, issued monthly in a cover by Alphons Mucha between 1897 and 1899 at a cost of 3 francs 50 centimes.
