Art Nouveau German Artist Signed Lithographic Postcard 1897.
This beautiful early un-divided back postcard features a stunning young woman in a Typical Art Nouveau 'profile' pose. Her hair is modestly covered by a stunning embroidered lace cap and she holds a bunch of Tulips.
At first sight I thought this lovely postcard was by the French artist Paul Berthon, as it is almost identical to his famous portrait of her gracious Majesty la Reine Wilhelmina, Queen of the Netherlands..but..at the base of the bouquet is a very tiny signature and date (Schweiger 1897).
It is postally un-used and is a German Weltpostverein issue.
Blank verso it has very faint album corner marks and is otherwise in very fine Antique condition.
One for the collector of lithographic signed art postcards, it is a partner to my listing NN588 by the same artist. They would look stunning framed together.
