Dating to the mid 1890's Meiji era, this very early pure Silk Kimono has a soft mix of apricot and white as the background colors to the rather unique abstract pattern of bamboo and flowers.
The floral colors are bold red, grey, light mustard and black and look as though they have been applied with a paint brush. The effect is very unique and ahead of its time.
The lining is a bold deep burgundy and apricot two tone which compliments the pattern perfectly.
Traditionally kimono have no sizing but the measurements are Entire width (sleeve-tip to sleeve-tip) 49 1/4" Body width 24" and Length 60 1/4".
The kimono has not been dry cleaned and the Antique condition is very good.
