By the English painter Cress Woollett is this lovely evocative rendering of an Edwardian maiden in a swimsuit of the day!
Famously known as 'Neck to Knee' (for obvious reasons), they were not the most glamorous of fashion items.
This maiden sits in the shallows languidly waving a handkerchief at passing boats.
Entitled 'We've Been Sailing Near the Shore Today (Un coin ou il ferait bon naviguer) it is issued by Inter-Art Co, Barnes, England, as part of their Artistique series.
Numbered 2484 it is well written on verso but not postally used, signed lower left and in good Antique condition.
