This is a 'dug' Dragoon coat or jacket button. Civil War era artifact. Identified by the 'D' in the center of the shield. It measures approximately 11/16" in diameter and I would consider it to be in Very Good condition. No identifying maker's mark on the back. It is of two-piece construction with a soldered steel loop.
